Community Clubs & Groups

No matter the season, there's always something fun and exciting happening at Hemlock Farms. Many members enjoy socializing through some engaging Hemlock Farms clubs that cater to a wide range of diverse interests.

Adopt-A-Highway

As part of PennDOT’s “Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful” program, Hemlock Farms Community Association has adopted a section of Route 739 to maintain four times a year. Vests, gloves, and trash bags are supplied to remove litter along this scenic road. 

 

Billiards League

A casual group of billiards players who pick partners randomly each week. All levels of play and expertise are welcome to play or learn. 

 

Brewster Garden

Brewster Garden is a wonderful little parcel of land right outside the Orchard House. Members may rent a row in the garden where they may plant flowers, herbs, and vegetables.  

 

Chess Club

The Hemlock Farms Chess Club welcomes chess players of all levels - from beginner to advanced - and offers free lessons and instruction. 

 

Columbia Italian-American Club

The Hemlock Farms Columbia Italian-American Club, Inc. (CIAC) is a non-profit organization that honors and promotes Italian heritage and culture.

 

Fifty Plus Club (50+)

Since 1981, the 50+ Club has been open to all Hemlock Farms members aged 50 or over. Geared toward developing and maintaining a spirit of camaraderie and fellowship, 50+ is an organized program of social, recreational, fraternal, educational, cultural and informational activities. 

 

Fishing Club of Hemlock Farms

Celebrating one of the favorite activities in our community, the Fishing Club of Hemlock Farms is open to all members and meets once a month in April, May, and September.  The Club hosts bass tournaments and children’s fishing derbies throughout the summer.  

 

Food and Friends

Good food, companionship, and recipes.  Meetings are on the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Orchard House.  Members bring a dish related to the monthly theme, eat, and share recipes, culinary ideas, and hints.  

 

Happy Hookers

If you enjoy learning from others in a relaxed and fun atmosphere, this club is for you. “The Happy Hookers” welcome crocheters, knitters, embroiderers and more, from beginners to advanced.  

 

Hemlock Farms Computer Club

The Hemlock Farms Computer Club was established to help residents help each other in the world of ever-changing computers and computer-related technologies. The club also strives to assist other groups and clubs within the community, sometimes providing hands-on workshops, at times providing volunteer assistance. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the Conference Center. 

 

Hemlock Farms Landscape Club

The Landscape Club is dedicated to enhancing and preserving our community’s appearance. 

 

Hemlock Farms Writers Group

The Hemlock Farms Writers Group members all share a love of writing and seek to inspire fellow writers through support and encouragement.  

 

Knights of Columbus

Knights of Columbus, Council #12571. Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month.

 

MANNA

MANNA provides rides to doctor appointments and loans out medical equipment to those in need.  

 

Monarch Butterfly Habitat Volunteers

This volunteer group maintains the Hemlock Farms Monarch Butterfly Habitat (watering, weeding, and planting additional plants) and explores a way to extend its function as a pollinating garden.  Volunteers also contribute educational information gained at the Habitat to the Environment Committee for publication in the Hemlock News. 

 

Neighbor-to-Neighbor Club

The Neighbor-to-Neighbor Club (N2N) welcomes all Hemlock Farms members with a sincere interest in the Community’s future.  The Club’s purpose is to communicate, educate and exchange ideas and make suggestions relevant to Hemlock Farms.  

 

Pickleball Club

This club participates in and promotes the sport of Pickleball through group activities, including planning and organizing play sessions and other events.  It arranges for and provides lessons, acquiring and sharing educational materials and providing an opportunity to socialize with others who share an interest in the sport. 

 

Women’s Club

The Hemlock Farms Women’s Club is a social and philanthropic organization that holds fundraising gatherings and educational programs.
