Hemlock Farms Conservancy
Hemlock Farms Conservancy is section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Our mission is to protect, preserve, conserve and sustain the water, air, land, forest, wildlife, and other natural resources of Hemlock Farms and it's environs in partnership with Hemlock Farms Community Association Members.
The roots of Hemlock Farms Conservancy began behind the gates of Hemlock Farms. The Community (HFCA) has always been actively engaged in protecting the environment, and character of Hemlock Farms.
With the creation in 1999 of their Environment Committee the formal process began. This committee was, and still is, charged with the responsibility for creating and maintaining the Community rules that focus on environmental issues within the 4,500 acres that is Hemlock Farms.
A few years later, in 2003, in order to bring a scientific perspective and level of expertise to its projects, it created the Department of Conservation.
As time went on it became more and more obvious that particularly the environmental challenges as related to water and forest management were becoming increasingly complex with both influence from and effect on areas well beyond the borders of Hemlock Farms.
Thus, 2009 saw the birth of the Hemlock Farms Conservancy.
The water and forest challenges the area faces today and will face in the future encompass multi-counties as well as multi-states. The Hemlock Farms Conservancy was created to help address those challenges, as well as to help maintain the quality and character of the area.
